14 मार्च को ओमकारानंद इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ मैनेजमेंट एंड टेक्नोलॉजी में आयोजित दो दिवसीय क्रिकेट टूर्नामेंट का सफलतापूर्वक समापन हो गया। इस टूर्नामेंट में कुल 16 टीमों ने भाग लिया, जो संस्थान के विभिन्न विभागों का प्रतिनिधित्व कर रही थीं। वहीं गर्ल्स क्रिकेट प्रतियोगिता में कुल 6 टीमों ने अपनी प्रतिभा का शानदार प्रदर्शन किया।
टूर्नामेंट के पहले सेमीफाइनल में बीकॉम फाइनल ईयर और बीकॉम सेकंड ईयर के बीच मुकाबला हुआ, जबकि दूसरे सेमीफाइनल में बीसीए फाइनल ईयर और बीसीए सेकंड ईयर आमने-सामने रहे। पहले सेमीफाइनल में बीकॉम फाइनल ईयर ने जीत दर्ज कर फाइनल में प्रवेश किया। वहीं दूसरे सेमीफाइनल में बीसीए सेकंड ईयर ने बीसीए फाइनल ईयर को हराकर फाइनल में अपनी जगह बनाई।
फाइनल मुकाबला बेहद रोमांचक रहा। बीसीए फाइनल ईयर ने पहले बल्लेबाजी करते हुए निर्धारित 10 ओवरों में 145 रन का लक्ष्य रखा। लक्ष्य का पीछा करते हुए बीकॉम सेकंड ईयर की टीम निर्धारित ओवरों में लक्ष्य तक नहीं पहुंच सकी और बीसीए फाइनल ईयर ने यह मुकाबला 4 रनों से जीत लिया।
गर्ल्स क्रिकेट प्रतियोगिता का फाइनल बीकॉम ऑनर्स सेकंड ईयर और बीकॉम प्लेन सेकंड ईयर के बीच खेला गया। पहले बल्लेबाजी करते हुए बीकॉम ऑनर्स टीम ने निर्धारित 8 ओवरों में 39 रन बनाए। जवाब में बीकॉम प्लेन सेकंड ईयर की टीम ने इस लक्ष्य को मात्र 5 ओवरों में हासिल कर मैच अपने नाम कर लिया।
बॉयज वर्ग में बेस्ट प्लेयर ऑफ द टूर्नामेंट का पुरस्कार आदित्य रयाल को दिया गया, जबकि गर्ल्स वर्ग में तृप्ति को बेस्ट प्लेयर चुना गया।
समापन समारोह में मुख्य अतिथि के रूप में प्रबंधन समिति के सचिव मुनेश अग्निहोत्री एवं कोषाध्यक्ष प्रदीप वैद्य उपस्थित रहे। उन्होंने विजेता एवं उपविजेता टीमों को ट्रॉफी, मेडल और प्रमाणपत्र प्रदान कर सम्मानित किया तथा खिलाड़ियों के उज्ज्वल भविष्य की कामना की।
इस अवसर पर संस्थान के निदेशक डॉ. विकास गैरोला, क्रीड़ा अध्यक्ष सनील रावत, डॉ संतोष डबराल,नवीन दिवेदी, प्रमोद उनियाल, राणा कोटी, मुकेश रणाकोटी, अजीत नेगी, डॉ गंगोत्री रावत, डॉ आम्रपाली, डॉ राजेश मनचंदा, एवं अभिषेक कालरा सहित संस्थान के प्राध्यापकगण, कर्मचारी और बड़ी संख्या में छात्र-छात्राएं उपस्थित रहे।

The two-day cricket tournament held at the Omkarananda Institute of Management and Technology concluded successfully on March 14. A total of 16 teams, representing various departments of the institute, participated in this tournament. Meanwhile, in the Girls’ Cricket Competition, a total of 6 teams showcased their talent with impressive performances.
In the first semi-final of the tournament, a match was played between the B.Com Final Year and B.Com Second Year teams, while the B.C.A. Final Year and B.C.A. Second Year teams faced off in the second semi-final. In the first semi-final, the B.Com Final Year team secured a victory and advanced to the final. In the second semi-final, the B.C.A. Second Year team defeated the B.C.A. Final Year team to secure their spot in the final.
The final match proved to be extremely thrilling. Batting first, the B.C.A. Final Year team set a target of 145 runs within the allotted 10 overs. While chasing this target, the B.Com Second Year team was unable to reach the required score within the stipulated overs, and the B.C.A. Final Year team won the match by 4 runs.
The final of the Girls’ Cricket Competition was played between the B.Com (Honours) Second Year and B.Com (General) Second Year teams. Batting first, the B.Com (Honours) team scored 39 runs in the allotted 8 overs. In reply, the B.Com (General) Second Year team achieved this target in just 5 overs, clinching the match.
In the Boys’ category, the ‘Best Player of the Tournament’ award was presented to Aditya Rayal, while Tripti was named the ‘Best Player’ in the Girls’ category.
Mr. Munesh Agnihotri, Secretary of the Management Committee, and Mr. Pradeep Vaidya, Treasurer, attended the closing ceremony as the Chief Guests. They honored the winning and runner-up teams by presenting them with trophies, medals, and certificates, and extended their best wishes for a bright future for all the players. On this occasion, the Institute’s Director Dr. Vikas Gairola, Sports President Sunil Rawat, Dr. Santosh Dabral, Naveen Dwivedi, Pramod Uniyal, Rana Koti, Mukesh Ranakoti, Ajit Negi, Dr. Gangotri Rawat, Dr. Amrapali, Dr. Rajesh Manchanda, and Abhishek Kalra—along with the Institute’s faculty members, staff, and a large number of students—were present.
