The first day of the two-day long Annual Athletics Sports Meet of Shri Bharat Mandir Public School, Rishikesh was held on the ground of Bharat Mandir Inter College on 11 December 2025 with great enthusiasm and zeal. The event was inaugurated by the Chief Guest Colonel Amit Atri, a distinguished officer of the General Reserve Engineer Force (GREF), Rishikesh, Uttarakhand.
The programme began with the ceremonial March Past presented by the four houses – Shivaji, Tagore, Ashoka and Raman, followed by the lighting of the torch and the oath-taking ceremony, where the Chief Guest administered the sports oath, encouraging all participants to uphold the spirit of sportsmanship and fair play.
In his inspiring address, Colonel Atri motivated the students to participate wholeheartedly in sports, emphasising that games build discipline, teamwork, resilience and leadership qualities. He reminded them to accept victory with humility and defeat with dignity, keeping the true spirit of sports alive.
Throughout the day, a variety of track and field events such as 100 m, 200 m, 400 m race, relay race, long jump, high jump and shot put were conducted for different categories. The major attraction of the day was the thrilling 4 × 100 m relay race, followed by the fun-filled Yoga, which captured everyone’s excitement and drew loud cheers from the spectators. A spirited teachers’ race added extra joy and liveliness to the meet.
During the prize distribution ceremony, the Chief Guest honoured the winners with medals and certificates, appreciating their performances. He congratulated all participants and conveyed his best wishes for the successful commencement of Day 2.
The day concluded on an energetic note, filled with sportsmanship, excitement and cheerful memories for all.
President of Shri bharat Mandir Public School Mahant Shri Vatsal Prapanna Charya Ji concouragred the students with his valuable speech and motivated the students explaining the value of sports. He also honoured the winners of various events by giving away medals and certificates.

On the auspicious occasion of this event, the President of the school, Shri Vatsal Prapannacharya Ji, the Manager of the school, Shri Varun Sharma Ji, Shri Deep Sharma Ji, Shri Madan Mohan Sharma Ji, Smt. Usha Rawat Ji, Shri Vinay Uniyal Ji, Shri Bachan Pokhriyal Ji, Shri Ashok Chandra Jain Ji, Shri Manmohan Sharma Ji, the Principal of the school, Shri K L Dixit Ji, Shri Yamuna Prasad Tripathi (Principal of Shri Bharat Mandir Inter College), D.B.S. Rawat, Shri Ranjan Anthwal Ji, Shri Updesh Upadhyay Ji, Shri Vikas Negi, and all the teachers, staff members, and parents of the school were present.
The Principal of the school, Shri K L Dixit Ji, welcomed the Chief Guests and distinguished guests.The event began with an inspiring address by Principal Shri K.L. Dixhit, who presented the Annual School Report highlighting the academic achievements, co-curricular accomplishments and infrastructural developments of the school in the session. He acknowledged the dedication of teachers and the consistent efforts of students in academics, sports and various competitions. He also expressed pride in the school’s performance in inter-school events, science exhibitions, board results, and participation in cultural and literacy contests. He motivated students to uphold discipline, hard work and regularity as key pillars of success.
