*उत्तराखंड में पहली बार एलएडी सिंड्रोम से ग्रसित बच्चे का बोन मैरो ट्रांसप्लांट*

डोईवाला- रियायती दरों पर गुणवत्तापरक स्वास्थ्य सेवाओं को समर्पित हिमालयन अस्पताल जौलीग्रांट ने एक और किर्तिमान स्थापित किया है। अस्पताल के चिकित्सकों ने ल्यूकोसाइट एडहेशन डेफिशियेंसी (एलएडी) सिंड्रोम से ग्रसित बच्चे में सफलतापूर्वक बोन मैरो ट्रांसप्लांट किया है। उत्तराखंड में पहली बार इस बिमारी से ग्रसित बच्चे में बोन मैरो ट्रांस्पलांट किया गया।
रामनगर से छह वर्षीय बच्चे आकाश (परिवर्तित नाम) को उसके परिजन लेकर हिमालयन अस्पताल जौलीग्रांट पहुंचे। आकाश जन्म से ही तमाम तरह के इन्फेक्शन (सर्दी, बुखार, त्वचा रोग आदि) से ग्रसित रहता था। हिमालयन अस्पताल की वरिष्ठ चिकित्सक डॉ. आवृत्ति बवेजा ने आकाश के मेडकिल हिस्ट्री देखी और जरूरी स्वास्थ्य जाचें करवाई। जेनेटिक स्वास्थ्य जांचों में आकाश ल्यूकोसाइट एडहेशन डेफिशियेंसी (एलएडी) सिंड्रोम टाइप-01 से जेनेटिक (आनुवांसिक) बिमारी से ग्रसित पाया गया। आकाश के उपचार के लिए मेडिकल टीम ने बोन मैरो ट्रांसप्लांट का निर्णय लिया। आकाश के भाई के स्टेम सेल लेकर उसका बोन मैरो ट्रांस्पलांट किया गया। बोन मैरो ट्रांसप्लांट के बाद आकाश पूरी तरह स्वस्थ है।
स्वामी राम हिमालयन विश्वविद्यालय (एसआरएचयू) के अध्यक्ष डॉ. विजय धस्माना ने अस्पताल की मेडिकल टीम को इस उपलब्धि के लिए सराहा साथ ही रोगी के स्वास्थ्य लाभ की कामना की।
*अभी तक बड़े शहरों में ही था उपचार मुमकिन*
ल्यूकोसाइट एडहेशन डेफिशियेंसी (एलएडी) सिंड्रोम से जूझ रहे रोगी में बोन मैरो ट्रांसप्लांट की सुविधा अभी तक देश के बड़े शहरों के अस्पतालों में ही मौजूद थी। मजबूरन रोगियों को उपचार के लिए उत्तराखंड से बाहर जाना पड़ता था। अब हिमालयन अस्पताल के चिकित्सकों ने सफल प्रत्यारोपण कर मिसाल कायम की है। इसके साथ ही राज्य का पहला व एकमात्र अस्पताल बन गया यह सुविधा मौजूद है।
*उत्तराखंड के पहले बोन मैरो ट्रांसप्लांट की उपलब्धि भी हिमालयन के नाम*
गुणवत्तापरक स्वास्थ्य सुविधाओं के क्षेत्र में हिमालयन अस्पताल जौलीग्रांट के नाम पहले भी कई उपलब्धियां दर्ज हैं। वर्ष 2017 में हिमालयन अस्पताल के कैंसर रिसर्च विभाग में कैंसर रोगी के उपचार के दौरान बोन मैरो ट्रांसप्लाट किया गया था। उत्तराखंड राज्य में पहली बार बोन मैरो ट्रांसप्लांट किया गया।
*क्या होती ल्यूकोसाइट एडहेशन डेफिशियेंसी (एलएडी)*
ल्यूकोसाइट एडहेशन डेफिशियेंसी (LAD) में रोगी की इम्यूनिटी काफी कमजोर होती है। यह पीडियट्रिक प्राइमरी इम्यनो डेफियंसी का ही एक रुप है। यह एक जेनेटिक डिसऑर्डर है। जिसमें श्वेत रक्त कोशिकाएं (ल्यूकोसाइट्स) संक्रमण के स्थलों पर ठीक से काम नहीं कर पाती हैं। इसके कारण बार-बार संक्रमण होते है।
*क्या होता है बोन मैरो ट्रांसप्लांट ?*
बोन मैरो ट्रांसप्लांट में, क्षतिग्रस्त या खराब बोन मैरो को स्वस्थ स्टेम सेल्स से बदल दिया जाता है. यह प्रक्रिया उन लोगों के लिए की जाती है जिन्हें ब्लड कैंसर, बोन मैरो फेलियर या अन्य रक्त संबंधी बीमारियों का इलाज करवाना होता है
*बोन मैरो ट्रांसप्लांट करने वाली टीम-*
इस ट्रांसप्लांट को सफल बनाने मेंक डॉ अंकित बत्रा सहित बीएमटी नर्सिंग इंचार्ज रुबिता की विशेष भूमिका रही। हेमेटोपैथॉलॉजी विभाग व ब्लड बैंक ने प्रबंधन में महत्वपूर्ण सहयोग दिया।

Doiwala- Himalayan Hospital Jolly Grant, dedicated to quality health services at concessional rates, has set another record. The doctors of the hospital have successfully done bone marrow transplant in a child suffering from Leucocyte Adhesion Deficiency (LAD) syndrome. For the first time in Uttarakhand, bone marrow transplant was done in a child suffering from this disease.
Aakash (name changed), a six-year-old child from Ramnagar, was brought to Himalayan Hospital Jolly Grant by his family. Akash was suffering from various types of infections (cold, fever, skin diseases etc.) since birth. Dr. Avruti Baveja, senior doctor of Himalayan Hospital, looked at Akash’s medical history and got the necessary health tests done. In the genetic health tests, Akash was found to be suffering from the genetic disease Leukocyte Adhesion Deficiency (LAD) Syndrome Type-01. For the treatment of Akash, the medical team decided to do a bone marrow transplant. Akash’s brother’s stem cells were taken and his bone marrow transplant was done. Akash is completely healthy after the bone marrow transplant.
Dr. Vijay Dhasmana, President of Swami Ram Himalayan University (SRHU) praised the medical team of the hospital for this achievement and also wished for the patient’s good health.
*Till now treatment was possible only in big cities*
The facility of bone marrow transplant for patients suffering from Leukocyte Adhesion Deficiency (LAD) syndrome was available only in hospitals in big cities of the country till now. Patients were forced to go out of Uttarakhand for treatment. Now the doctors of Himalayan Hospital have set an example by doing a successful transplant. With this, it has become the first and only hospital in the state to have this facility.

Himalayan Hospital Jolly Grant has many achievements to its name in the field of quality health facilities. In the year 2017, bone marrow transplant was done during the treatment of a cancer patient in the Cancer Research Department of Himalayan Hospital. Bone marrow transplant was done for the first time in the state of Uttarakhand.
*What is Leukocyte Adhesion Deficiency (LAD)*
The patient’s immunity is very weak in Leukocyte Adhesion Deficiency (LAD). This is a form of pediatric primary immunodeficiency. It is a genetic disorder in which white blood cells (leukocytes) are unable to function properly at the sites of infection. This leads to repeated infections.
*What is bone marrow transplant?*
In bone marrow transplant, damaged or defective bone marrow is replaced with healthy stem cells. This procedure is done for those who need treatment for blood cancer, bone marrow failure or other blood related diseases.
